Home Comforters Quilting Club
about us
Nothing pulls at our hearts more than the suffering of a child. Home Caregivers Home Health in partnership with the Arts in Caring Council matches a skilled quilter(s) with a homebound child and their family to create a custom-designed, heirloom-quality quilt to cherish always. However, this program is about more than just making beautiful quilts -- it is about bringing together people to celebrate, commiserate, understand and connect in new and powerful ways.

Quilters meet with the child and their family to discuss interests, colors, experiences, and special materials (such as a special blessing gown or baby blanket) to incorporate into the quilt. When the quilt is completed, (and this process can take several weeks or even months) the quilters, family members, sponsors, gather in the home of the child and family for a very warm and special presentation of this unique creation.
about us

This program is multi-directional as the quilter(s) gains a new perspective and deeper understanding of these children and their families while creating a lasting relationship. The child has a special quilt to snuggle with, and the family has an heirloom to cherish as a memory of their child, and as a reflection of caring on the part of their community.
