Friendship Network
about us
The Friendship Network matches isolated, homebound patients with healthy and active community members for the purpose of participating in art projects together. The “friends” spend one hour per week for a minimum of eight weeks working on several small projects or one large project. At the end of eight weeks, “friends” may continue working together and also have an opportunity to exhibit their work in galleries and through the media via news articles, and television and radio stories.

Spencer Lloyd and Vivian Buchanan are friends who share a love of music. Since becoming ill, Vivian has not been able to enjoy much. She has numerous jazz albums that she can’t listen to because she doesn’t know how to hook up her turntable. This was a simple fix. She loves New Orleans jazz and is enjoying spending time with Spencer, who plays the piano and the guitar. Vivian, once a proficient piano player back in the day, is looking forward to sharpening her skills again.
